Sonelier

Terms of service

Effective date: 2026-09-20T00:35:02Z · Version: 2026-09-13

These terms govern Sonelier’s live captions, translation and synthetic audio services.

Operator and accounts

Sonelier’s operator is Nathan Shin, at 5568 av. Adalbert, Côte-Saint-Luc, QC H4W 2B2, Canada. Contact: [email protected]; telephone: +1 514 962 0620.

Host accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Keep account details accurate and credentials secure; act for an organization only with authority. Minor listeners need appropriate parent, guardian or responsible-adult permission and supervision, including any consent required by law.

Your content and permissions

You retain your rights in submitted content. You grant Sonelier a non-exclusive licence, limited to providing the service, to process, reproduce, translate and transmit that content through the providers needed for your broadcast and its history. This does not transfer ownership or grant a general promotional licence.

Before broadcasting, inform speakers and participants about microphone capture, AI processing, providers, audience access and stored history. Obtain legally required permissions, including permission to use copyrighted scripts and translate or broadcast them. Browser microphone permission alone does not establish speakers’ consent. Share only material you are entitled to use, and choose room access carefully. Authorized organization members may manage shared content; listeners may retain their own copies.

AI limitations and acceptable use

Captions, translations and synthetic speech can omit, invent or misinterpret words, names and meaning. Audio is machine-generated. Review important output against the source. Sonelier is not certified interpretation, professional advice or an emergency service; arrange qualified assistance where accuracy is critical. Network or provider interruptions may delay or stop output.

Do not use Sonelier for unlawful surveillance, infringement, harassment, deceptive impersonation or unlawful content. Do not bypass access controls, disrupt the service or evade payment and usage limits. Protect other people’s personal information and report unauthorized access promptly.

Plans, usage and payment

Paid plans recur monthly in Canadian dollars (CAD). Checkout shows the recurring price, included usage, applicable taxes and additional usage charges before purchase. By subscribing, you authorize those recurring charges until cancellation takes effect. The free trial has a limited allowance.

Usage is weighted, not simply microphone time: each unique active language stream is counted, including the host dashboard’s language if connected. Instant mode uses 3 credits per minute per active language stream. One credit consumes one allowance minute. In Default and Smart, each stream uses 1 credit per minute; Smart adds 0.25 credit per source minute. One live minute with two language streams in Smart mode uses 2.25 credits. Additional usage requires enabling overage within the selected spending limit. Plan limits and usage remain visible in billing.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancel renewal through the billing portal, or contact [email protected] if you cannot access it. The confirmation states when cancellation takes effect. Self-service account deletion requires a personal subscription to have ended; contact us to exercise privacy rights meanwhile. Charges for service already supplied remain payable only as permitted by law. Cancellation, refunds, remedies for defective or undelivered service and statutory withdrawal or chargeback rights remain available where applicable. Contact us about billing errors; these terms do not impose a blanket no-refund rule.

Suspension and disputes

We may restrict or suspend access proportionately for security risks, unlawful use, material breaches or unpaid amounts. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow correction; urgent risks may require immediate action. Contact support to request review. Export needed history before closing an account.

Québec law and applicable Canadian law govern, without removing mandatory protections in your place of residence. Our legal responsibility and statutory guarantees remain intact. You retain access to competent courts, consumer authorities and collective proceedings; no mandatory arbitration or waiver of consumer remedies applies.

Changes and language

We may propose changes to features, prices, usage rules or these terms. Material changes will receive advance written notice describing the change, its effective date and your options. Where Québec law requires it, notice will be at least 30 days in advance and explain the right to refuse and cancel without penalty within 30 days after an adverse change takes effect. Changes requiring agreement will require it. French and English versions are available; mandatory language rights are preserved.
